Forward-deployed engineering

We join your company and carry one problem with your team, from the first conversation to a system in production.

You have a problem that needs an owner, and nobody inside has the standing to take it. We put one engineer, or a small team, inside your company. We work in your project, your systems and your release process, the same ones your team uses. We take the problem from the first conversation with your business side to a system running in production, together with your team.

Most days you’ll find us writing code, reviewing code and deciding with you what gets built next. Some days we’re on the phone with a supplier, or in the room when the business side changes its mind. We choose vendors with you, and we make the decisions nobody else in the company wants to make. We write down what we decided and why, so the reasoning stays with you.

What we do.

  • Your CTO has left, and hiring a replacement will take months.

We take the seat while it’s empty, for engineering, product and whatever IT comes with it. We make the decisions in the week they come up, so the roadmap keeps moving while you hire. When your permanent CTO arrives, we hand the role back, with the decisions written down.

  • You need to decide whether to build or buy, and nobody owns that decision.

Buying means you inherit someone else’s roadmap, and building means you inherit the maintenance. We look at your systems, your teams and your processes and say what the architecture should become. Then we sit between you, your IT and your suppliers until it gets there.

  • Your engineers are good, and the team still isn’t working.

We mentor, and we put in structure so you don’t need the mentoring next time. We settle who decides what, what gets written down and what the team sorts out on its own. If you’re the founder or CTO who holds the seat, we do the same work as your sparring partner.

  • You ship faster with coding agents, and the code is getting worse.

You’ve got more duplication, nobody refactors, and more code that hides errors. Agents ignore architecture written as prose. They respect only what the code enforces: types, contracts, tests, lint rules, module boundaries. So we put the architecture into the code with you, where the agents have to respect it. And we set up the review and the checks that catch what the agents produce.

Tell us what you’re building.

Send a note or book a call, whichever you prefer. You’ll hear from us within one business day. Our clients are in the DACH region and across the EU, and we work with all of them remotely.
